The Veduta depicts the Augustinian monastery in Rijeka from a bird's eye view, which is also stated in the title cartouche (Conventus Fluminensis Ord Erem. S. Augustini in Liburnia) in the upper right corner. What is interesting is the use of the ancient regional name of Liburnia in an Early Modern Period work, by which the author seeks to emphasize the connection of this area to the Western European cultural circle, defined not only by a common tradition but also by a distinctively Catholic culture. The monastery dates from 1315, and the Church of St. Jerome from 1408. Today it has been transformed into the Dominican Monastery of St. Jerome. Below the bottom edge of the map is the name of the author, an engraver (I.M. Steidlin sc.), who specialized in the vedute of Augustinian monasteries throughout Europe.
